Professional Development Program

Your CIT program consists of activities to develop skills, knowledge, attitudes, and professional development. To help you develop leadership qualities and prepare you for a career. CIT requires all students to participate in the Professional Development Program (PDP). This program directly reflects industries’ request for the need for improved employability skills in entry-level workers. The Professional Development Program is designed to teach you skills that will help you make a smooth transition from school to the world of work. The program is based on competencies that have been determined by business and industry representatives to be important for success on-the-job. These employability skills are integrated with the skills learned in your chosen career, setting you apart from others and making you a marketable employee. Your Professional Development Program is jointly taught by the Instructional Support Teacher with assistance from the Occupational Program teacher. Skills covered in the program include career exploration, communication skills, personal awareness and interactions with business and industry.

CIT strongly encourages all students to take full advantage of this opportunity for success!
