General Information

CIT offers Certified Programs in compliance with State regulations. Students select a specific field of study that consists of up to 1200 hours of instruction. After the culmination of the program, a certificate of completion is awarded in that field of study. Call for further course information and course content.

Times

Part time courses are offered Tuesday and/or Wednesday from 2:45-5:45 p.m. or 6-10 p.m, unless listed otherwise.  Most full time programs are scheduled 7:50 AM - 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday.


CIT Canceled Classes

CIT reserves the right to cancel any program. Minimum and maximum class size will be determined by the administration. CIT reserves the right to limit enrollment and change instructors. We also reserve the right to cancel a class due to low enrollment or due to the unavailability of instructor or facilities. 100% refund will be issued for courses cancelled by CIT prior to start of class. If CIT cancels a class due to insufficient enrollment after class starts, tuition and lab fees will be refunded on a prorated basis determined by the number of classes which were actually held.

Student Cancellation/Withdrawal and Refund (Credit) Policy

Students who withdraw five (5) days prior to the first class will be reimbursed 100% of the tuition fees, and mat/lab fees. However, there will be a $40.00 processing fee deducted for each refund transaction.

Students who withdraw within five (5) days prior to the first class and before the second class will receive 100% of the tuition fee only. However, there will be a $40.00 processing fee deducted for each refund transaction.

Students who withdraw during or after the second class will not receive a refund, but a prorated tuition credit which will be good for one year from date of issue. However, there will be a $40.00 processing fee deducted from the tuition credit for this transaction.

No refund will be issued after the end of the second week of any class.

No refund will be made for classes that are 8 hours or less in length after the first class has begun.

Withdrawal from a seminar or workshop less than forty-eight (48) hours prior to the beginning of that course will receive no refund.

Refunds are processed after the monthly school board meeting.

School Closings

Day School Closings do not mean evening classes are cancelled. When the Adult Continuing Education Classes are cancelled due to inclement weather, it will be announced and indicate adult/night school classes after 3:00 p.m. on stations WLEV, WEST, WODE, WAEB/B104, WGPA, WVPO/WSBG, and WFMZ-TV69.

Classes cancelled due to inclement weather will be made up at the end of the session or at the discretion of your instructor.

Instructors hired by the Adult Continuing Education Department are employed because they have special skill or expertise which they are willing to share with the community.
