Building & Property Maintenance

Students participate in the CIT Student Built House Project and learn basic skills in several construction trades!

This instructional program teaches students the skills necessary for employment in a variety of occupations including masonry, construction laborer or apprentice, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical.  Emphasis is placed on the use and care of hand and power equipment related to all phases of the care and maintenance of buildings and grounds.  Students in the program participate in the construction of the CIT Student-Built House Project.

Recommended Academic Levels

Reading: 9th grade

Math: Basic math, word problems, measurement, converting fractions to decimals and percents.
