Health Related Technology

Join a field that is always growing!

The Health Related Technology program instructs students in the areas of first aid, medical terminology, growth and development, gerontology awareness, nutrition, home health aide, and medical assisting. Students also learn entry level skills in office management, scheduling, and telephone techniques.  Students gain experience with off-campus internships and field trips.

Recommended Academic Levels


  • Reading: Curriculum is written at a 9th grade level.  Medical Terminology requires college level reading and comprehension.
  • Math: 10th grade level, includes calculating fractions and conversions (cc/oz, lb/kg, etc)

Recommended Acacemic Courses


  • Honors or AP classes recommended (if enrolled in CP should maintain B average or better).
  • Algebra 1 by 10th grade, Algebra 2, Geometry

Recommended Aptitudes


  • Strong reading and writing skills
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Strong independent work habits
  • Physical endurance to be on feet for long periods of time
  • Must have a clear criminal background check
  • Must be free of communicable diseases
